Real answers to what brands ask us before booking a Diagnostic. If your question isn't here, ask it in your free 30-minute session.
For a typical Magento or WooCommerce migration: 6 to 12 weeks end to end, from kick-off to go-live. The variables that move the timeline are catalogue complexity, custom checkout logic, the number of integrations, and whether you're moving to Shopify Plus with Markets.
Diagnostic-only timeline: 1 to 3 business days from form submission to your scheduled session.
No — if it's done properly. SEO loss during a replatform is almost always caused by missing 301 redirects, broken canonical tags, or meta data that didn't carry over. We build a full redirect map before launch, audit every URL, and monitor rankings for 30 days post-launch.
Brands we've migrated typically see rankings recover within 2–4 weeks and improve over the following quarter, because Shopify's page speed alone is a meaningful ranking signal versus most legacy stacks.
It depends on scope: catalogue size, integration count, theme complexity, whether you need Shopify Plus features, and what custom logic moves over. We don't quote without looking.
What we do guarantee: fixed price after the Diagnostic. Once scope is agreed, the price doesn't move. No "additional hours" invoices at the end. No scope creep.
For a working budget range during your Diagnostic, we'll give you honest numbers based on what we see in your store.
If you're on Shopify Plus, yes — via Shopify Functions and checkout extensibility. We can rebuild custom validation, custom shipping logic, custom payment flows, and custom thank-you pages.
If you're on Shopify Standard or Advanced, the checkout is fixed by Shopify but you get Apple Pay, Shop Pay, and a single-page flow out of the box — which usually converts better than the custom checkout you'd be replacing.
Every integration gets audited during the Diagnostic. Most major platforms (NetSuite, SAP, ShipStation, Klaviyo, Yotpo, Recharge, Bold, Loop) have direct Shopify integrations that are equal or better than what you have now.
For custom or proprietary integrations, we map the data flow, rewire the endpoints, and test in staging before launch. Nothing goes live until every integration round-trips correctly.
Yes. Customer profiles, addresses, full order history, refunds, and tax records all migrate. For passwords (which can't be transferred for security reasons), customers go through a single password reset flow on first login — we communicate this in advance via a launch email.
Active subscriptions, loyalty points, store credit and gift cards all transition with state preserved.
It depends on volume, custom checkout needs, multi-store or multi-region requirements, and B2B needs. We'll tell you during the Diagnostic.
Rough rule of thumb: under £500k GMV with a standard checkout — Shopify. Up to a few million with reporting and multi-staff needs — Advanced. Custom checkout, B2B, multi-store, or £5M+ GMV — Plus.
We don't push tiers you don't need. Many of our clients are on Shopify Advanced and stay there.
For most migrations: 15 to 45 minutes of read-only mode on the old store while we do the final data delta and DNS cutover. Customers can still browse; checkout is briefly paused. We schedule this at your lowest-traffic hour (typically 03:00–05:00 your timezone).
The new Shopify store is monitored for 72 hours post-cutover with rollback ready if anything goes wrong.
Yes — the entire build happens in a Shopify development environment (password-protected, not indexed). Your team gets access throughout the build, runs UAT for at least a week before launch, and signs off before we schedule the cutover.
We also run synthetic order tests through the staging environment to validate the checkout, payment, fulfilment, and integration round-trip.
A rebuild without a platform migration is usually faster and cheaper. We start the same way — Diagnostic, scope, fixed price — but skip the data migration steps. Typical timeline: 4 to 8 weeks.
This is the most common project we run for brands already on Shopify whose original theme has outgrown them.
We're remote across the UK and the EU. Most of our active clients are UK and Western European brands, but we've shipped projects for brands in 15+ countries via Shopify Markets. Time zone alignment is the main practical limit.
Every project includes 30 days of post-launch monitoring at no extra cost: redirect health, integration round-trips, rankings, Core Web Vitals, and any urgent fixes.
After that, brands typically move onto our retainer (up to 10h/month of senior dev + strategy, monthly CRO review, 1-business-day response on critical issues). See the Support page for retainer detail.
