When someone shares a link to your store on Facebook, X, LinkedIn, WhatsApp or Slack, the network shows a preview image. That image comes from the page's og:image tag. The app makes a branded 1200x630 image for every product, collection, blog, article and page, and for your homepage, from a template you design for each type. It then adds that image to your storefront as the og:image tag.
You choose which types use the app's image. A type you switch off uses your store's own image again.
The setup guide on the app's dashboard checks each of these and ticks the steps that are done.
Social networks keep their own copy of a link's preview for a long time, and they fetch it again only when they decide to. To make Facebook fetch it now, paste the link in the Sharing Debugger and click "Scrape Again". To see what your page sends without any network's cache, use opengraph.xyz.
Nothing. The app only adds the app embed, which you turn on and off in the theme editor. To stop the app's images, turn the embed off or uninstall the app.
If you commented out your theme's own og:image lines, remove the {% comment %} and {% endcomment %} around them after you stop the app, so your theme prints its image again. When you uninstall, the app emails your store the steps, with a copy of the file as it was before you changed it.
Yes. Choose them from your store's Files, or upload them there from the app. The logo is shared by every template. Its size, position and margin are set per template, and you can apply them to all templates at once.
